Apparently, wins are tough as to come by for the Georgia Bulldogs basketball team as they are the Hans Appen. You may have noticed he declared victory in the comment section of my last post. Of what, I’m not sure. I guess he wins the contest for noting where I did not write something. Few have won that award though, so he’s in elite company. He clearly took my order to “ball extra hard” from my last post to heart. That’s what I like to see.
I may just block Hans from being able to comment on SPS in an attempt to get him to write his own blog. This needs to happen. There is no doubt in my mind that his would get an outrageous amount of hits and am fully aware this will probably cut out 9/10ths of the comment section on SPS but it’s for the greater good.
Update: Hans has his own blog. Hansappen.wordpress.com. Cross yourself before you go there. For you non-Catholics, I’m not sure what tricks you have but use them.
First, I am in complete awe of LeBron James. Oh. My. God. His performance against the Celts was ridiculous. As much as I love David Lee, I’m going to have to pass on him this time with my MVP vote. LeBron is Amazing. Can’t wait for 2010.
I gotta say that Rick Reilly’s article on ESPN has gone downhill quickly. I loved his stuff on Sports Illustrated and I don’t know if my Ambien just happens to kick in when I click his articles but I just can’t seem to get into it like before. That being said, I hope my career is half as good as his. That being said, I hope I have a career.
Speaking of going downhill, my life expetancy is dropping quickly. I’ve been placed on suicide watch after being forced to cancel on Hines Ward, Billy Gillispie and Mark Titus this week because the news room at WUOG won’t be ready in time. Considering I had to cancel on Bruce Pearl and Titus last week (yes, I’ve cancelled on him twice now), I’m slipping into manic depression.
The only thing keeping me alive is that I now have an office. WOOOOO!!!!!!! Technically, I haven’t cancelled on my guests yet because now that I have office hours on Tuesday’s, I’ll take care of it then. I can only hope I get an office phone so I can really do some damage. It was a poor idea for WUOG to give me an office AND an designated time to wreak havoc on the sports world. I can’t even imagine the possibilities.
Another bonus was that I actually get mail in this office. UGA mailed me a few media guides and strangely Tennessee mailed me a media guide to the golf team. Luckily, we were having an office bonfire when I discovered it and I was able to chip in big time. One of those media guides was for the Gymdogs and after seeing the women on the cover you can be sure I will be attending more meets. Thank God for Title IX. (Deuce, if you’re reading, please comment). In all seriousness (for ONCE) the Gymdogs are really amazing athletes and it’s something I’ve been meaning to check out for awhile.
I’d like to give a quick “Damn You” to UGA food services who put skim milk in the 2% container this morning which severely dimished my performance today. Not cool.
Until next time, Ball Hard (but I’ll give you a pass if you accidentally digest skim milk).
