The Ricky Hatton vs. Manny Pacquiao fight is set in stone. May 2. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! I am so pumped for this day.  When the news broke earlier this week that Pacquiao hadn’t signed the contract and the fight was off I was so depressed that I needed an extra dose of heroin just to get out of bed.

Even better, rumor has it that Floyd Mayweather will take on the winner…OH EM GEE!!!!

The Shane Mosley vs. Antonio Margarito fight is tomorrow and I’m pretty excited about that also. It should be a bloody mess as these two don’t seem to feel pain.

I’ve already been wreaking havoc on the sports community stemming from my time in my office. Good news: I do have a phone and I put it to good use. In the midst of my dialing I came up with a great idea for my time in “Office Hours.” I’m also working closely with Nolte to improve the blog a little.

Here’s a preview of what’s to come.

Also, I’m making a stand on the Hans victory celebration. Hans, it is not anyone’s fault but yours that you did not read the article. How can we be considered kindergartners for not knowing what you read or did not read? Just because you looked in the wrong post for the information does not make US dumb.

P.S. I Love You

I usually don’t like TV announcers. When I’m watching a game I can see what’s going on and I don’t really need someone telling me, especially those I consider dumber than myself. ESPN’s coverage of the Kentucky @ Tennessee game is showing me how right I am.

First, they mentioned how Tennessee causes a lot of turnovers in the Bruce Pearl defense. Here’s where ESPN could be very informative. They could talk about how Bruce Pearl brings that kind of intensity to his team which is shown in the defensive schemes. They could talk about the kind of player Pearl recruits to play that defense. I mean just something interesting. Instead, they displayed a graphic.

Apparently, wins are tough as to come by for the Georgia Bulldogs basketball team as they are the Hans Appen. You may have noticed he declared victory in the comment section of my last post. Of what, I’m not sure. I guess he wins the contest for noting where I did not write something. Few have won that award though, so he’s in elite company. He clearly took my order to “ball extra hard” from my last post to heart. That’s what I like to see.

If anyone doubted what I said about Hans, he came through for me in a big way with his comments on the last post. Unfortunately, his reading skills were also put on display. I chose the Big Ten to lose their automatic BCS pick. Read the article (and wipe that stuff off your face, bro). The Tebow comment was a joke referring to Dominique Franks’ idiotic remarks.

Speaking of jokes, this is the last time I will clarify a joke on this blog. This is now the third time someone has used this blog for a legitimate source. If the post is under “James’ Blog” please do not take it very seriously. Recently, I’ve been called uninteresting, stupid and a dumb slut (though the  last may be unrelated to the blog). For example, there was not really a “monsoon” in Athens. That would be impossible. I know many of you were concerned and the flowers were greatly appreciated, but the town is safe and more importantly, so am I.

1. I was disappointed the Gator fans didn’t do the S-E-C!! chant after their national championship win over Oklahoma. LSU did it last year. ‘Bama did it against Clemson. By the way, that’s 3 in a row for the SEC. Might I add the SEC is 5-0 in BCS national championship games. Do Work.

I meant to make a note of this in my last entry. Take a look at this conspiracy theory created by my friend Zach (middle of the article). It basically gives a pretty interesting reason why Georgia was ranked number 1 this preseason. Check it out.

There’s also a pretty good argument that Texas should be in the title game this season as they beat Oklahoma. Look for Texas to be ranked number 1 next preseason. If they are, you’ll have a hard time convincing me that this theory is false.

I’m a firm believer that preseason rankings are completely useless but this theory gives them a reason to exist.

And who doesn’t love a little conspiracy?

On Tuesday Monday after I posted, I went out with Will to run some errands. Unfortunately, he no longer smelled of sex and beer. We devoured some Wendy’s, went to Fry’s (where I picked up a new weapon of journalistic destruction) and then headed for Super Target. I was strongly against this move because I had already been to Super Target once that day and made Will pay for this decision. Midway through the trip, Will put away half of his pasta and went to check-out out of sheer irritation. It was then that karma reared it’s ugly head. As we entered the razor isle, of which I was in desperate need, I suddenly got a cold chill down my spine that only comes from one thing: a Gator fan. I turned and sure enough, there he was. His jean shorts, buck teeth and mullet made me temporarily spazz out and unable to move. He got me good. After I regained consciousness, I made a dash for the exit. Unfortunately, a man committing what I can only describe as a crime against humanity blocked my escape. His shorts were smaller than my chances of getting drafted by the NBA or NFL (which I plan on declaring for both in 2009/10 depending on my 40 times). I was trapped. I slowly regained composure just in time to give a swift kick to the shin of the Gator fan and run away. It was after this trip, I declared I would never enter Super Target twice in one day ever again. However, I did learn that Gatorade had a new design for it’s bottle. I can only assume this move is to celebrate The Big G — Jason Giambi — signing a new contract and bringing joy to Major League Baseball once more with moves like this and this. He’s good for humanity.

As you’ve undoubtedly heard by know, the Utah Utes are furious they didn’t get a shot at the national championship and suddenly think they have been ripped off. Get real.

Utah has no right to think they earned a national title shot. They’ve played in a nothing conference. It’s not their fault. There’s nothing they can do about it. It’s not fair. But that’s the way it is.

You know what’s worse? They know it. Why was there none of this whining before the Sugar Bowl? They didn’t have a signature win like Oklahoma over Texas Tech, Florida over Alabama or even Texas over Oklahoma. Utah’s big win was over TCU who they beat by 3 in a pretty lucky 4^th quarter. Anyone impressed?
