Root for whomever you like, but playoff basketball almost always comes down to Spurs type play because teams realize every basket matters and it’s “win or go home.” Many people would say that this type of basketball is actually more entertaining, and the best teams combine both. Personally I’m a Suns fan (after the Hawks) but the Spurs used the fastbreak to demoralize the Suns in game 2. Basketball is different than hockey in this manner because the ball is much easier to control and keep possession. I’ll be rooting for the Suns, but I won’t mind seeing a San Antonia vs. Detroit championship, it would be a knock-down drag-out battle instead of a track meet, but they’re both entertaining.

I think you are little to late in writing this article. The suns have already changed their style of play with Shaq replacing Marion. The Spurs look to get out and run more because they are now the better team in transition. The Suns have already given up on being an up tempo run and gun team because they lost in the playoffs the last couple of years to the Spurs. Basketball, like all sports, is about attacking a weakness in an oppenent until they stop you. That’s what great teams do and a great example is the Celtics-Hawks series. In a pick up game the hawks players might win but the celtics force them to execute against great duress on offense. The result has been two ugly blowouts.

excuse me did you just say that san antonio is better in transition than the suns. There is no substitution for nash in the up tempo style and no 4 runs as good as amare stoudamire on the spurs.
