Today I was really, really excited, mainly because I thought it was Tuesday. If it were Tuesday, I would be heading to Athens tomorrow to go on my first mission as Sports Czar of the UGA radio station and I would be one day closer to Duke vs. Davidson in which I’m picking Davidson for my bold prediction of the week (which would make sense if you listen to the Friday Pregame Show). Also, Shawshank Redemption is about to come on and I haven’t seen that in awhile, I balled outRAGEous today, and Will called me to explain he smelled of sex and beer (to which I suggested he bottle the smell and create a cologne called John Daly — that was the least graphic photo I could find that applied). I’ve also been stroking my beard that I’ve grown for about 5 days (which means that at least two birds have taken residence) and I am in a damn fine mood.
You may recall in my goals for this blog that one was for Tim Hix to return one of my emails. So far, I am 0-3 (I’m also 0-2 on making the Bill Simmons mailbag). More importantly, you may be wondering who Tim Hix is. Mr. Hix is the Sports Information Director (SID) for basketball at UGA. So rather than waste my time sending him more emails, I’m going on my first mission to find the man and beg for press passes.
At first, I simply assumed he was on vacation. But I realized the error of my thoughts upon emailing Ohio States’ SID Dan Wallenburg for permission to get Mark Titus on the show. He got back to me within the day. His second email got back to me within 30 seconds. Literally. So, Mr. Hix, the ball is in your court (pun fully intended).
Talking to Tim Hix presents a couple of challenges. First, I have no idea where his office is. Second, I don’t know what he looks like. Luckily, my ride is leaving here bright and early Wednesday morning so I’ll have plenty of time to wander around campus.
I’m also planning on visiting my good friend Dennis Felton to ask him a few questions about upcoming SEC play. And maybe where Tim Hix’s office is. I’ll try and post that audio here or on NorthFulton.com.
So, as it’s not Tuesday, I won’t be updating tomorrow. Hopefully my adventures on Wednesday will provide blogworthy notes or at least a blogworthy interview with Dennis Felton.
Until then, Ball Hard.
