5. Players and their egos
If an NBA player is looked at the wrong way by another player, there is going to be some sort of standoff to make sure the dude receiving the look doesn’t lose any manpoints. Its ridiculous to me how some of these players will go out of the way to let another player know that what they did was upsetting to the other. They just end up looking really stupid. I’m also sick of a little altercation between two players resulting in the posse running over to turn it into a way bigger deal than it really was. It is really ridiculous when players from the same team do something as childish as splash each other with water and then throw towels (No I’m not making that up).
4. Music being played during play
I’m not a fan of music being played during actual gameplay. The home team shouldn’t be allowed to have the PA announcer start “DAY-O” chants and play music that gets faster and faster as the shot clock winds down in order to fluster opponents. I know this has been going on for years now but its an insult to the game of basketball. No othe sport plays rap beats or organs during gameplay and its just unprofessional.
3. Cameras in the locker room for pregame and halftime speaches
If the pregame and halftime talks were supposed to be public doman, they wouldnt have a locker room. The teams would just chill on the court and then the coach would use the PA to let his team and everybody watching what the game plan was in the second half. TNT only ends up showing the part where to coach says something like, “we gotta keep fighting” or something we already know anyways. I just don’t think that there should be a camera in a locker room ever. There is no need for video recording a room where giant men get dressed and undressed and where coaches tell players the gameplan. Worst Case Scenario = George Karl wrestling in locker room
2. Courtside seats in between the bench and the scorers table
This is one of my biggest pet peeves about the NBA. The league is more and more about money and less and less about quality basketball. I think it is absurd that you can pay money for a seat that you are literally rubbing knees with NBA head coaches. The players that are all the way on the end of the bench are all the way off the court halfway to the tunnel. I don’t think Reggie Miller deserves any excuses but when the fans were standing he had to lean over the table to see the game. He is very hard to listen to when his view is unobstructed we don’t need fans in the way.

1. Interviews with coaches in between quarters
This is the most ridiculous thing ever. There is a media timeout between quarters so that is good for 2 or 3 minutes of downtime during which coaches should be talking to their team or talking about the game with their coaches. Of course TNT decided this would be the perfect time to interview winning coaches with questions that assume that that coaches team is going to win the game. The coaches usually end up saying like we just need to keep rebounding and playing defense. We don’t need to go to the coaches for that information. I mean even Reggie Miller, possibly the worst announcer on TV could have told us that teams need to rebound and play defense.
