I have officially survived the longest week I’ve had at UGA and I’m ready to go Asher Roth on the weekend. Much thanks to Nolte for tuning me into that song.
I’d like to address the comment section. First, the only things I know for sure about hockey is that I don’t like Sidney Crosby and that Ovechkin is a straight baller (or “pucker” I guess). No analysis will come from my fingertips.
That being said, hockey might be my favorite sport to watch live. Well, NCAA football has to be close. If it’s watching Georgia and it’s not 97 degrees in Sanford Stadium I’ll take that all day. Hockey is flippin’ awesome to watch live. You’ll never find it on my TV though.
Second, it’s good to see Jason coming out of his shell again after his bout with Hans. Federer did choke in the 5th set. It was really weird and almost scary. I didn’t think it was possible. It was one of those earth-shattering realizations like Jennifer Aniston is 40 and still looks that good. And is still single (I don’t accept that John Mayer is a legit boyfriend). Come to think of it, Nolte turned me on to that picture too. That’s two assists for Nolt in one blog. (Which is two more than he has in his last four games. Way to step it up!)
I talked to the SID’s at Florida who denied my Billy Donovan request. After sending 5 emails to various people on the staff I finally found one who wasn’t allergic to email.
You may have heard the news about Chris Brown beating up Rihanna. Yes, I am outraged. Yes, I am preparing to fight Chris Brown. No, I will never listen to “Kiss, Kiss” again.
Is there a bigger joke than Bud Selig? I can’t stand the guy. He allowed the “steroid era” to occur yet pawns the blame on everyone else. He might not have known exactly what was going on, which I highly doubt, but when the numbers started going through the roof he should have raised his eyebrows. His quote yesterday was ridiculous when he commented that steroids were illegal (in the U.S. not baseball) in 2003 so he might have to punish A-Rod. Steroids have been illegal for years but only punishable in baseball since 2004. Whose fault is that? It is extremely hypocritical that Selig said “(Rodriguez) shamed the game.” Selig shamed the game by allowing this to happen under his watch. I’m not arguing that A-Roid didn’t shame the game and disappoint thousands of fans, but Selig is hardly one to throw a stone when he built the glass house. Did you know he made 18 million last year? Now that is absurd. When I think of Selig, I think of the steroid era and ending an all-star game in a tie. He’s a clown.
I had a very interesting experience at Ramsey today. There was a kid in a “Duke Lacrosse” shirt which struck me as strange for a few reasons. First, I thought it was bold that he’d wear such a jersey given the beat down Duke received last night from UNC. The game must have been a bit boring for the 8 listeners of the Friday Pregame Show because the game went down exactly as I said it would. Second, the kid was also pretty small (coming from me) and wouldn’t have been able to defend his honor had somebody said “Duke blows,” especially if it were the definitely-juiced Stone-Cold-Steve-Austin wannabe who was lifting next to him. Third, I thought they would have stopped making “Duke Lacrosse” shirts after the scandal with the stripper a few years back. Maybe they didn’t stop making them, but sales must have taken a huge hit similar to the hit number 13 Yankee jerseys will be taking this year.
There was also an extraordinarily good looking girl working out and I could tell she was into me when she approached the ab bench I was using and asked “are you almost finished?” I resisted the urge to hit her with a “that’s what she said” which I’m now pretty disappointed about. Could it be that I’m showing signs of “maturity?” I should certainly hope not.
I’m currently watching the Arizona State vs. UCLA game which reminds me how insanely hot Arizona State women are. Hopefully some of them come to Athens for some Southern Hospitality when we play them next September (maturity level back to normal).
Whatever you do this weekend, make sure you Ball Hard and listen to the Friday Pregame Show (5-6) at wuog.org/sports.
